These two studies combined are clear indicators that IL-35 and its subunits have the potential to treat autoimmune disease by stopping or reversing nerve-inflammation caused by improperly communicating immune cells. The results of the study on mice with multiple sclerosis were published in the Frontiers of Immunology scientific journal, and is titled “IL-12p35 inhibits neuroinflammation and ameliorates autoimmune encephalomyelitis.”
