Intracranial Visual System Changes May Predict Parkinson’s Disease
What the research implies
This current research finding is an exciting development in the study of Parkinson’s disease. Dr. Arrigo announced that this finding is going to be helpful in monitoring the patients’ treatment, following up on disease progression, and differentiating Parkinson’s disorders. Regardless, the fight against the disease is far from over. If the study is indeed able to find a sensitive marker for Parkinson’s, several other tests and clinical trials for possible medications should still be conducted. Future inquiries to understanding the visual system changes are also needed.
