New Guidelines for Diagnosis and Treatment of Lupus

Immunologic criteria: based on specific blood tests

  • ANA test positive (it is positive in 95% cases of lupus, and 5% of general population)
  • Anti-dsDNA antibody test
  • Anti-Sm
  • Antiphospholipid antibody
  • Low compliment: C3/C4 or CH50
  • Direct Coombs’ test (in the absence of hemolytic anemia)
