Avoid caffeine and alcohol at least 4 hours before you go to bed.  Both caffeine and alcohol interfere with sleep and may keep you awake at night. Alcohol may make you feel sleepy initially, but it disturbs your sleep and may wake you up in early hours in the morning and cause restlessness.
