Support: A Necessity for Patients Coping with Lupus

Suicide hotlines

It’s common for people with chronic diseases to have suicidal thoughts. Despite this inevitable feeling, there are so many ways for these patients to erase such negative thoughts by simply getting in touch with the right kinds of people. For instance, if a person is thinking about committing suicide, he or she can now call the local suicide hotline to ask for guidance. Although this is not an assurance that it can totally fix a patient’s internal issues, calling and simply having someone listen to one’s problems can already appease a great deal of sorrow.

Today, people with chronic illnesses can now find support anywhere. It’s important for a patient to settle on a support group since it can help them significantly. Although medication and treatment plans can treat a patient's physical symptoms, social connection and support can certainly improve one’s mood and general well-being.
