The Emotional Rollercoaster of Parkinson's Disease
Other tips
- Relaxation: Having a relaxing bath, going for a walk, reading a book, or chatting with friends can help people to relax. These activities may seem very simple and easy, but they are effective. So, every now and then, people should indulge in these activities. A simple cup of coffee or listening to a favorite song can make a lot of difference.
- Writing a Journal: Although many people find it hard to express themselves through writing, it can be an effective outlet for emotions. It can bring encouragement to remember what happened in the past few weeks and realize the improvements that have transpired.
- Crying: On some days, people just want to break down and cry. Surprisingly, this is okay. It is because this is an indication that they recognize their feelings and letting themselves express what they truly feel. If these feelings are kept, the sadness becomes worse.
- Laughing: Laughing might be really difficult in an anxious or depressive condition. However, by doing this, the body releases chemicals that can make one feel good. Watching comedy shows and listening to people tell corny jokes may help release these good chemicals.
