The FM/a-Test: Is it Accurate?
How was FM/a-Test developed?
This test measures proteins within the body of a patient that lessen pain. Individuals suffering from fibromyalgia cannot produce the required quantities of these proteins. When the test was being developed, the blood test results were compared in:
- Ninety-eight rheumatoid patients
- 160 fibromyalgia patients
- 100 lupus patients
- 119 healthy patients
93% of the individuals who had this condition were identified accurately with the test. On the other hand, 89% of the participants who did not have the ailment were also identified accurately.
