Vision Loss and Alzheimer's Disease: The Strange Connection

The possible link

Dr. Mary Rogers of the Institute of Healthcare Policy and Innovation at University of Michigan posits that another possible link between vision loss and Alzheimer’s disease may be that people with vision loss or a degree of poor vision may find it difficult to participate in physical activities, puzzles, incorporating games, and other activities that have been shown to enhance and preserve cognitive function.4 According to her, it’s therefore, advisable for people who have vision problems to visit an optometrist to have treatment, as this may significantly reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease.
