Anxiety and the Fear of Going Insane
Managing thoughts during a panic attack
While panic attacks are occurring, thoughts are hard to manage. When someone can't follow their own thoughts, it is no surprise that they begin to feel crazy, as it feels like they can't even think for themselves. Some people even state that it is like being outside of your own cognitions, merely being a body that has been taken over without control, going through the motions of physical sensations without any sense of stability. Unfortunately, this can be a very common side effect of panic disorder that causes significant amounts of stress on those who endure it.
