Pulmozyme (dornase alfa), is a liquid, synthetic protein converted into an inhalable mist via nebulizer. Many of you may even be using this treatment as it was approved by the FDA in 1993. Originally meant for those under age 5, ongoing research has led to its approval for all ages and for all stages of CF. We are informed by SA that Pulmozyme “works well with other standards of care for CF patients, which together forms a very important, long-term maintenance treatment for CF patients in the absence of a cure."
