New Shingles Vaccine Is a Good Alternative for Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients
FDA approval for a new vaccine
They've finally done it. In October of 2017, the Food and Drug Administration has finally approved a new vaccine for the varicella virus. It's called Shingrix, which is used to prevent shingles in adults age 50 or older. Luckily for those suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, Shingrix is a non-live vaccine. Instead, it contains molecules from the virus in a recombined manner so it can teach your immune system without putting you at risk of getting sick.
