Use the right lubricant

Diabetes, as well as old age, can negatively impact the vagina’s natural lubricant capacity, requiring lube to be used in order to enjoy the sexual experience. However, some lubricants may contain sugar in their formula, which can obviously cause more harm than good to a diabetic patient. Some forms of sugars used in lubricants are elements such as glycerin and propylene glycol, which can alter the balance of pH in the vagina and set it up for a yeast infection. That being said, those that require lube would benefit from reading the ingredient list and choosing a silicone-based variant.
