10 of the Earliest Signs of Autism

Sensitivity

For those with autism, it can be extremely difficult to process external stimuli without becoming overwhelmed. So, if you are with a child who cannot seem to handle being in loud and crowded places, or becomes distracted or flustered very easily by a distraction, it may be a sin that they have autism.

This sensitivity not only refers to noise or commotion, but even lights, tastes, smells, or textures. As a result, autistic children may insist that they wear certain clothes, eat certain food, or touch certain things regularly. The same can happen in the opposite direction, when they actively avoid such things.
