“Can a 10 year old be required to undergo a bypass surgery?”
My son is 10 years old and has been diagnosed with heart blockages. I never thought that a child could be diagnosed with heart blockages, and now his pediatrician wants us to discuss bypass surgery. Is this really recommended for small children with heart blockages?

There is not enough information to answer this question. If the child has coronary blockages due to Kawasaki's Disease, bypass surgery would be a rare but possibly necessary option.
Yes, if it’s necessary, it can be done. Make sure you go to a tertiary care center that does at least 400-plus pediatric cardiac bypass cases a year.
