My friend is a 50 year old male with a history of diabetes and arrhythmia. What laboratory tests should be requested to assess if there are any complications? If a patient has CKD what blood value would most likely be elevated?

Arrhythmia is a very generic name. I would start with basics by checking the thyroid function and comprehensive panel. Then a monitor for 2 -4 weeks to try to capture some of the arrhythmias.
