“Acid Reflux”
When I lay down to sleep, I may still be awake or could be sleeping, out of the blue food comes up my throat and I start gagging and coughing until it clears. Should I be concerned?

Medications: Acid Reflux meds, celexa and thyroid meds
Conditions: Acid reflux, anxiety and thyroid issues

Yes, gastroesophageal reflux, or GERD, can be a sign of underlying problems, not just heartburn. With the symptoms you describe, aspiration is a concern which can cause pneumonia. Schedule an appointment with your physician to determine what next steps are appropriate.
