Anxiety?

My husband has had multiple medical issues in the past five years. He is now waiting to get a pet scan of his entire body and my mind keeps going to the fact that he probably has cancer since he’s lost so much weight in the last year and a half. I’ve recently noticed a heaviness in my throat and I’m wondering if that is due to anxiety until we get these tests done and I find out the results.

Even though it’s difficult to diagnose with this little information, it does seem like anxiety related to your husband's medical condition. Please try distraction techniques and deep breathing exercises.

I am so sorry for this health concern with your spouse, that carries a heavy stress burden for sure. I would actually be surprised if you weren't feeling anxious. Anxiety shows up in a variety of ways in the body as part of biological design - fear informs the body to defend and protect itself. I would suggest taking some time out for yourself to address this.
