“Anxiety question?”
I have severe anxiety. I'm tapering off diazepam and have intense anxiety panic and agoraphobia. Is this withdrawal still tapering? My doctor says it won't cause withdrawal.

Full withdrawal syndrome from Diazepam will not happen but just discomfort IF the taper down takes place during weeks (each dose reduction) not days. Example: Diazepam dose reduction from 10 to 7.5 mg/day for two weeks before going down to 5 mg/day.
To know for sure what is going on I would not know how long you have been tapering Valium. This taper needs to be incredibly slow. Most doctors want to taper in 10 to 30 days. There are many people posting
