If you followed your oral hygiene instructions, braces will not cause cavities.
It can be if you don't brush, floss or use fluoride appropriately
Cavities are not common after braces. However, it is important to maintain good oral hygiene during braces or it is possible for cavities to develop. More care needs to be taken around where the braces are placed, so that bacteria and plaque don't build up in those areas.
Let a dentist determine if what you noticed are cavities and the possible reason. We would hope that no patient would experience any harm to teeth during orthodontic treatment, but a high standard of oral hygiene must be maintained as well as diet restrictions on sugar, otherwise cavities are a possibility braces or not. Restore cavities as soon as possible.
It is not common to have cavities after braces. It is important to maintain good oral hygiene and see your dentist regularly throughout your time in braces. We also recommend daily use of a fluoride rinse.
Unfortunately, yes. Having any type of dental appliance in your mouth makes it more difficult to keep your teeth clean. If you have not been on your "A" game the entire time you had braces, it is very common to get a cavity.
