The reality is that we are all human, and we crave those things that we cannot or should not have. So, minimizing the potential damage is always a good guide. Fresh fruits in moderation, Carrots can be sweet and are healthier than other sweets. If you must have something like candy, better to have a small piece than a large piece. I'm not sure that "diabetic " candy, cookies, or drinks are healthier than smaller pieces of candy, homemade cookies with less sugar and chemical in them, or protein drinks or smoothies that you make yourself without all the sugars or chemicals in them.
