“Bleeding nose while straining?”
My husband was on the toilet after eating a lot of peanut butter and was struggling to have a bowel movement. He got dizzy and lightheaded and started bleeding from his nose. What should we do?

Please take him to see his doctor or to the ER. Since the complaint is a day old, I hope you have done this already.
The straining (which is called a valsalva maneuver) caused increased pressure in the nasal cavity and resulting in bleeding.
The solution is to reduce straining by avoiding constipation, using laxatives to have looser stools daily.
