Bowel movements

Male, 40, having some issues with bowel movements. I'm going at a regular clip, 1-2 times a day, there is no blood in the stool or anything concerning visually. Stool is on the thinner (not pencil thin) and sticky side and get the feeling often that I either didn't get it all out or something is there. No pain, just mild discomfort or slight burn. Wondering if I may have a small internal hemorrhoid? I've had this issue on and off for a number of years but it is concerning to me.

40 is the age we start colonoscopy on higher risk patients with family history of colon cancer, colon polyps , genetic predisposition, and African Americans. Indication for your colonoscopy additionally would be a change in bowels. Early detection is peace of mind!
The symptoms do not sound concerning and are not indicative of a hemorrhoid.
Try some diet changes including increasing fiber and see if that bulks up the stool more to your liking. Metamucil or citrucel might help.
