I am a 17 year old male. I want to know if I can have orthodontics even if I have an underbite?

Yes orthodontics can be done but sometimes depending on the extent of the "Underbite" surgery may also be required to get the desired cosmetic/functional result.
Absolutely. If the underbite is mild, braces alone may be sufficient to correct the problem. If it is more severe, braces combined with jaw surgery will be required.
Hello,
There are many factors that determine the need for orthodontic treatment. It is important to have a comprehensive exam to make sure there are no risk factors that would compromise the treatment. More often than not, an overbite or overjet can be corrected with orthodontics. However, when there is a huge bone discrepancy, it might require a more involved protocol. Every case is different, so it is important to get a comprehensive evaluation.
