Can I take off the boot?

I broke my right fibula and now had screws put in my right ankle now 4 weeks after the operation my leg is in the boot 24/7. Can I take the boot off for a while or even at night due to having a tingling sensation under the boot? I'm getting worried that something is wrong.

Reconsult Orthopaedic Surgeon. it can be loosened.
Yes, certainly. Then take a shower. If the stitches are still in you should call your surgeon and ask if they need to come out. Let your skin breathe! Don't walk on it without the boot until your surgeon says it's okay.
Thank you for sharing your ankle issue with the FATD community. I am happy to share my thoughts, tips and suggestions regarding this issue.

Ankle fracture surgery is done to help restore the anatomy and stabilize a broken bone in the ankle. When someone can begin walking on the operated ankle is dependent on several factors. If the fracture was bad and the repair was not very stable or strong, then it can be 6-8 weeks before full weight can be placed on the ankle (with or without a boot). If the tissues holding the ankle bones together were torn and needed to be repaired, it can be 12 weeks before a person can walk on the ankle without a boot. If the fracture was repaired well and the structure stable, a healthy person can begin walking and using the boot less by 4 weeks after the surgery.

I hope this helps.
