I am a 23 year old female. I want to know if a chipped tooth can get infected?

Unless the chipped tooth is broken into the nerve of the tooth, you will probably not get an infection from a chipped tooth.

It depends and is likely that it can get infected if it is a large chip which can expose dentin leading to bacterial build up, and possible nerve exposure.
