Good Evening, thank you for your question, behavior therapy specifically applied behavior analysis is the treatment that has shown the highest level of efficacy to treat children on the Spectrum. I always recommend a multidisciplinary team to support each individual child and always happy to provide you a consultation if you need so. Please take care. Dr. Gonzalez
ABA Therapy has traditionally been the treatment to treat children and adolescents diagnosed with autism, no matter where they are on the spectrum. https://www.autismspeaks.org/applied-behavior-analysis Unfortunately, many BCBA's and behavioral health technicians have reported that children who are higher functioning are victims to absent parenting due to action or inaction influenced by society or "western culture" on the household. If you believe that your child could benefit from ABA therapy, research the local agencies within your community and make sure your decision is based upon what they are willing to offer; too include vetting the therapist/technician based upon their ideologies along with any implicit biases. SURE
Yes of course, rates of success are increasing in applying behaviour analysis strategies in Autism management, and even autistic adults of medium severity can graduate from college but with effective treatment strategy, The most important in treatment is the follow up and maintenance of treatment with the family support.
Behavioral therapy is a great way to help your child with autism. But it also depend on your child as well. It may help them and it may not help them.
Yes! While there is no "cure" for autism, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy is the most evidence-based treatment for autism spectrum disorder. Since ASD is behaviorally-based, behavioral therapy is recommended.

Yes it can
Yes, behavioral therapy can assist you with managing your child's behavior. There are several options for therapy including seeing a BCBA, OT, PT, SLP, and counseling services. Depending on your child's age early intervention services are also recommended. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance through consultation or direct services. I look forward to hearing from you.
Applied Behavior Analysis is the gold standard of treatment for Autism Spectrum Disorder.
