Neurologist Questions Fainting

Can blackouts happen during your period?

I have been fainting when I have my period, it usually happens once per cycle. Right before it happens I feel weak and in pain. What could be the reason for this? Should I see a neurologist or someone else?

You may need a gynecologist and an internist first. Need a gynecologist to see what female problems might exist, for example, endometriosis. If he finds nothing, an internist needs to check you for types of blood pressure, which drop with periods. After that, a neurologist for treatment and neurologic causes. Pain and fainting are fairly rare with menstrual periods. Workup may be complex or simple. Good luck for a quick solution.
This is likely related to your cycle- it can be caused by dehydration related to such. Try drinking gatorade a week before your cycle, until the last day of your cycle.
Pain can cause syncope = fainting and also check your blood count for anemia.
