Braces can harbor plaque and other ‘stuff’ because it’s difficult to clean around them- the discoloration of enamel is mostly associated with poor hygiene - so - water pik, longer brushing time (soft brush) and non alcohol fluoride mouth rinse works wonders
Only if your oral hygiene is poor. But you can still see spotting. Poor oral hygiene is the biggest problem I see with braces.
