Pediatrician Questions Dyslexia

Can dyslexia be treated?

My son has dyslexia. I really do not want him to struggle in his life. Is there anything that can be done to treat this/help him overcome?

Dyslexia can be a very difficult and perplexing problem. Once a diagnosis has been established, the child needs some special tutoring and help with individualization in the classroom. There are some schools that offer this. He does not need to be segregated or put into a special class, but just needs some special attention, especially in the early years to help him deal with this problem.
There are ways to teach a child with dyslexia to make it easier for them to learn and do better on standardized testing. Usually this is a lifetime problem.
