“Can flossing cause gum pain?”
I have gum pain after flossing. Can flossing cause gum pain?

If you are flossing and experiencing pain its most likely that you already have a gum issue but are unaware of it until you floss. Flossing is not the source of your problem. Flossing helps prevent problems.
Flossing too aggressively (sawing motion) can cause inflammation and in severe long term cases tooth structure loss and bone loss…so be gentle- you’re only trying to tackle the plaque.
