“Can gestational diabetes during pregnancy harm the baby?”
I have been suffering from PCOD from the time I got my periods. During my pregnancy first trimester I have been detected with high insulin levels causing diabetes. According to the doctor this may only last till my pregnancy. Could it harm my baby in any way?

I specialize in geriatrics (dementia, etc.) and I would think your current doctor that you see during your pregnancy would know and provide you with an accurate answer to your question.

Your doctor should be discussing this with you. Short answer, yes elevated sugar levels can cause problems with your baby. It will be VERY important for you to have close follow up with your OB/GYNE and manage your sugars during your pregnancy.
