I have an inguinal hernia and want to fix it. Can local anesthesia be used for hernia surgery?

Yes, but usually the surgeon must want to fo it that way.
It depends, consult a Surgeon,
Under rare circumstances- typically someone who cannot tolerate general anesthesia. If done under local anesthesia only, it must be done as an open procedure (not laparoscopically).
