Can presbyopia lead to blindness?

I was diagnosed with presbyopia. Can presbyopia lead to blindness?

No. Not to worry, it is a normal aging change in the eye. It is fixable with a lens correction.
Presbyopia refers to the difficulty that one usually encounters in ones fourties seeing clearly at the usual reading distance when wearing distance corrective lenses. This often requires multifocal lenses or reading glasses. It is a normal part of the aging process and does not lead to blindness.

Presbyopia is corrected by reading glasses, progressives, bifocals, trifocals, or contact lenses. Surgically, it can be corrected by multifocal lens implants. This natural aging process doesn't lead to blindness, just the need for reading correction.
