“Can tonsillectomy be done under local anesthesia?”
I will have a tonsillectomy next week. Can tonsillectomy be done under local anesthesia?

It has been done, but the vast majority are under general anesthesia. Not many ENT doctors would be willing to do it. It can be hazardous as blood, char, tonsil material, and infective tissue can get in the airway and cause issues.
