In general we usually wait about 6 months after an injury to the nerves in the legs or arms to see how much they can recover. Depending on the injury, sometimes a specialized peripheral nerve surgeon can repair or graft the nerve. It is a complicated decision and depends on the type of injury and time since the injury happened.
That depends on what caused the nerve damage. There are many reasons a nerve can not function as well. You would have to discuss the cause with your doctor, and then sort out how best to manage it.
Nerves can repair themselves if the injury is not too severe. I recommend you make an appointment with a foot and ankle surgeon (podiatrist) for diagnosis, evaluation and treatment options
