There are a number of reasons why people stutter. Most treatment approaches aim to improve fluency, reduce the emotional impact of stuttering, and develop communication skills. Treatments often include speech therapy, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and, in some cases, electronic devices or software that help with speech timing. With assistance, many people outgrown stuttering.

I am sorry I have retired. There are many speech pathologists available. Please look for someone in your area. Good luck.
Speech therapy is a great benefit to those that stutter. The reason for stuttering is different for everyone and is often coupled with treatment from a licensed mental health therapist as anxiety has been found to often time tie closely to stuttering.
Absolutely. Although there is no cure for stuttering, many individuals use strategies to help them be more fluent when necessary.
There are many areas of speech pathology. I do not work with stuttering. My expertise is adults with swallowing disorders (dysphagia) and I perform FEES (flexible endoscopic evaluation of swallowing).
