I am a 28 year old male. I wonder if you can overcome anxiety by yourself?

Yes, there are many books/self help options available that you can practice yourself. But therapy is also a great idea, e.g. There are many theoretic orientations and interventions for anxiety, and it depends on the specific person and the type of anxiety. Examples of therapies are CBT (cognitive behavior therapy), mindfulness training, ACT (Acceptance Commitment Therapy). If there are OCD aspects or others, more specialized therapies might also be indicated, e.g. ERP (Exposure Response Training).
That depends on how severe your anxiety is as well as how able you are to tackle self-directed work. For mild to moderate cases of anxiety, eating well, sleeping well, exercising and certain self-help exercises can be extremely helpful. As well as meditation and mindfulness exercises (easily found on-line as well as in books, classes, etc.).
Well, it depends – how immobilizing is the anxiety? Does it include panic attacks? Is it ‘about’ something in particular, or just all the time for no particular reason? Have you tried meditation? Have you spoken to a professional, such as your physician? And is this anxiety only recent or for a long time? All these things are important to consider. Perhaps you should start by talking to a professional who can point you in the best direction for you, including some form of self-practice. Then you can start in the best direction to get some relief.

Depending on how intense your anxiety is. There are a lot of good self help books like the anxiety and phobia workbook. If it is really intense, I would recommend therapy.
Maybe you can, but only if you know how to do that. To do so, you need to identify what your mind is seeing as a threat to your survival or wellbeing, get it to dial that back, put it in perspective and recognize that it isn't really acutely dangerous, and then press only the energy buttons that are going to be useful fuel for skillfully executing actions that are actually possible, that would be beneficial and that you are going to be glad you did.
