Can you put veneers over crowns?

I am a 54 year old female. I wonder if you can put veneers over crowns?

No, bonding these two materials is not successful.
Hello,

Not typically, but if an older porcelain crown fractures and the metal substructure shows through, I have attempted to cover with a porcelain veneer with some success. Especially if it is a front tooth. If it is a single unit, it is probably best to redo the crown.
Sorry, but no, cannot do that.

Nope
No, it doesn’t work to bond a veneer over a crown - besides not bonding well - it would be too thick & not look natural. An old or failing crown would need to be removed and replaced with a new crown.
I hope that is helpful and makes sense.

Maybe, depends on so many factors, but normally, it's not appropriate or practical.

HI!

You actually can! Although this is rare, there are special times when you would rather do this than replace a crown. Normally, if veneers are done on a patient, the crown would be replaced with a new crown that matches the look, shape, shade, and material of the veneers.
Not usually. Normally would want to take old veneers and clean up teeth and either prep for new veneers or crowns depending on what works best long-term for the patient.
