Colon polyps or warts?

I am a 45 year old female and upon self-examination, due to having painful bowel movements, I felt what I thought were polyps. I discovered this around 5 years ago and have not seen a doctor. My question is...can polyps be mistaken for warts or any other kind of growth?

Conditions: Hyperthyroidism, High Blood Pressure

Not sure what you are referring to. The self exam you did is of the skin? The anal canal? Or rectum? Warts grow on the skin, not in the intestinal tract, so they should not be mistaken for polyps. There are some infectious types of polypoid lesions (e.g., condyloma) that grow in the anal tissue and these need to be diagnosed by a physical exam or via a procedure such as an anoscope or sigmoidoscopy.
