Confusion with items, affecting my life

I am becoming really confused lately. I went to the store for sprite and I visually saw the sprite in my hand. Walked up to the counter to pay for it and it ended up being a coke. This happened also in the lunch line. I thought I grabbed orange juice and walked out of the line with apple juice. This is starting to become more prominent in my everyday life.

Hello! I would suggest reaching out to your Primary Care Provider with these concerns.
Stress, anxiety, and even sleep deprivation can cause this confusion you need a full medical and neuropsychological workup as your brain is playing tricks on you, and needs help.
Hello, Thank you for sharing what I can only imagine was incredibly anxiety-inducing! While I cant diagnose or attempt to treat you, I will say we can all sometimes experience minor forms of dissociation (for example, you are driving and suddenly youre home and dont remember the drive.) This does not equate to a diagnosis and I always recommend following up with a healthcare provider to share your concerns. I hope this helps! Lindsay
This sounds like "brainfog" and is a measurable brain state or condition. The treatment I provide is medical standard and alters and optimizes your brain functioning by normalizing what is out of balance.
This is difficult to answer with the limited information, but it could be related to attention. In the examples you give, it sounds like you are looking at options for a beverage, make a mental choice but find you have grabbed the wrong thing. Are there other instances of this issue or any other symptoms? How long has this been going on? How often is it occurring? Has anything changed in your life? Attention can be affected by a wide range of emotional, cognitive, and physical factors-. For example, has there been any event or situation that has caused you to feel stressed, anxious, depressed? Changes to job, school, residence, relationships? Are you more tired than usual? Have there been changes to your sleep patterns? Your appetite? You did.not report any prescriptions or medical diagnoses- do you take any new supplements? Any drugs or alcohol? When is the last time you had a physical or medical check up (with bloodwork for thyroid, vitamin levels, blood sugar, etc.)? Is there any history of diabetes or hypoglycemia? Any family medical history? These details can help explain and/or rule out causes for the issue you are having. Dr. M, PhD
This sounds like a physical health matter. First of all, i recommend that you increase your water consumption and eliminate sugary drinks like soda. Your brain is over 80% water and if you are dehydrated, it may affect your memory. If you continue to have problems, I recommend you see your doctor and they will refer you to a specialist, if necessary. This is not a mental health question, unless your confusion started after a stressful event. All the best!
