Infectious Disease Specialist Questions COVID-19 Vaccine

Covid antibodies?

I have had both Moderna covid shots. Blood test for covid antibodies shows no antibodies. Why not? Last shot was 4/18/21.

There are some instances where antibody testing might be negative for individuals who have had COVID-19 vaccines, this is because the immunity is not the same as in an individual who has contracted the infection. Please consult with your health care provider and start discussing your booster schedules.

Thanks for the question.

About 5 to 7 percent of those vaccinated do not respond to the vaccine. Some reasons include immunosuppression, age, and diminution over time of the response. You should see your doctor about your immune system, and consider revaccination with a different vaccine if your immune system is intact.

Good day to you and thanks for your question.

This kind outcome after you got shots for COVID-19 may happens for many reasons that require an immunologic evaluation. I'm suggesting you visit your physician who may recommend you a through immunologic investigation. I do hope you will get an appropriate answer.
