Anesthesiologist Questions

Day after propofol

I had an endoscopy yesterday and they used propofol. All the way to 10 pm I was shaking and unsteady. Today I had severe chills and feeling faint. Any time standing I get light headed. It is almost 24 hours since my procedure.
Any I overly sensitive to it? Should I be using it in the future?

Female | 72 years old
Medications: Statin and blood pressure
Conditions: Not able to eat but a few bites

Propofol is a great sedative with a very short half life. You shouldn't been experiencing those symptoms 24 hours later. Check with your GI doctor to see if those symptoms could be related to the endoscopy.
Hello! Sorry to read about how you're feeling after your procedure.  Not knowing what other medications you may have received during your procedure or what happened and how it went (especially if there were any problems), I can't say if propofol is the culprit causing your problems after your procedure. Do you have a fever?  Have you been able to rehydrate since the procedure?  If you are having problems taking nourishment and fluids, dehydration may be the main issue.  You may want to consider speaking to your gastroenterologist or perhaps going to an urgent care clinic or emergency room for an evaluation.
