Disc bulge?

I have back problems and I've had an MRI before. That said I have a disc bulge in three different places as well as facet arthritis and spinal stenosis. I'm having to work a job requiring me to stand 8 hours or more on my feet which has caused my back to get worse. I have numbness in both my lower legs that will not go away and its making it harder to stand every day and i cannot walk too far at all without excruciating pain.

options
1) physical therapy
2) Pain injections
3) Surgery - there are too many spine surgeries performed so work on #1 and 2 first
I would recommend you see an Orthopedic surgeon who specializes in spine care. It sounds to me that you need a combination of epidural blocks, medication, and physical therapy. Remember doing these things together all at the same time increases your chances of pain improvement. Hope it helps!!

The treatment depends on how significant the bulges were. Usually disc bulges are measured in millimeters and then the spinal canal is measured. If the disc bulge involves more than 50% of the spinal canal size than it is considered very significant. You definitely need to be evaluated by a specialist. Treatments include physical therapy, chiropractic, acupuncture, spinal injections and if all fails surgery.
