Do I have herpes?

I recently started seeing this woman and we've been sexually active. Due to a medical condition, she is unable to get pregnant so we've had unprotected sex. I noticed what may be a sore in my mouth today and don't know if I bit my cheek in my sleep or if it is herpes.

The lesion in your mouth is not typical of genital herpes. Herpes simplex type 2 (genital herpes) usually causes ulcers or pus in the back of the throat after the very first infection. Your doctor can take a specimen from your oral lesion for testing if you remain concerned.
This could be either Herpes, Herpangina (due to a Coxsackie virus), trauma, or allergy. It can also be a manifestation of pemphigus or monkeypox. Thanks for the question.
