“Do I need surgery for a herniated disc?”
I was diagnosed with a herniated disc. Do I need surgery for a herniated disc?

Depends on the problem. More than likely chiropractic can help you avoid surgery. An exam and xrays would be recommended.
Not all disc herniations need surgery. The best solution would be to make an appointment with a chiropractor who specializes in disc herniation treatment. At Capstone Chiropractic LLC, we specialize in the treatment of disc herniations, central canal stenosis, pinched nerves, and many other conditions.
MAYBE YES, MAYBE NO. It is suggested to get more than one opinion whenever surgery is recommended. There are so many factors that need to be considered before the decision is made for surgery.
Generally speaking, no you don’t. Although, if you have lost control over your bladder, kidney, or bowel movements, then yes. In this case, you would propose to need Emergency surgery. The other problem that would necessitate Disc surgery would be loss of muscle strength in your feet and legs. Otherwise, call a Chiropractor’s office that either does Flexion-Distraction technique or spinal decompression treatment. Many times I have helped patients with Disc herniations get better without Spinal Surgery. If you don’t have any of the problems listed above, call my Clinic at 336-773-1177 to schedule an appointment, so I can help you get feeling better soon as possible.
