“Do I need to give my son iron supplements as he is growing?”
My son is 11 years old and not the best eater. He's also smaller than most kids his age. Are iron supplements required for optimum growth in children?

Not if he gets an iron-rich diet. If he is a poor eater as you say, he could get deficient. There has been an association between iron deficiency anemia and problems with learning.
Hello,
No you don’t need to give him iron supplements unless he has anemia, which is a low hemoglobin, which can be tested by blood work. If you are concerned about height, he can be evaluated by an endocrinologist.
