I will have a bronchoscopy. Do they sedate you for a bronchoscopy?

I am sorry to learn about your condition. A bronchoscopy is a very invasive procedure. Not only will you be sedated, you shall require general anesthesia to tolerate such a procedure because of the possible treatments required. However, depending on what’s going on with your respiratory system, you can have a laryngoscopy done in an ENT’s office… with that, they can only see the gateway to your trachea and not the bronchial tree.
