“Do you have to be put to sleep to get dental implants?”
I am a 33 year old male. I want to know if you have to be put to sleep to get dental implants?

Nowadays, most of the dental implant can be placed with only local anesthetics. You don't need to go under general anesthesia unless (i) you are very apprehensive, or (ii) a medically compromised patient with other underlying health conditions.
No, this can be done with local anesthetic. It is a minimally invasive procedure, and you can drive yourself home if you would like!
It all depends on the patient; the comfort level of the patient is the most important concern. To answer the question, it is recommended, but not required for implant surgery.
Absolutely not! It is an option for anxious patients, but the majority of dental implants are placed under local anesthesia with patients awake and alert. It is a fairly simple procedure most of the time.

No, most implant procedures are done under local anesthetic. However, you may receive IV sedation if your treatment is complex.
