Generally no. But it depends on what causes the problem. See your doctor and get scans, which can help identify the problem. You still may need more tests to determine the cause, and then you can be steered onto the right person for help. Hope this clarifies things

They can but not usually. The initial treatment is usually by your primary doctor with medication and physical therapy. If that fails they can consider an MRI of the lower back and a referral to a spine surgeon
