Does a root canal hurt for front tooth?

I will get a root canal on my front tooth. Does a root canal hurt for the front tooth?

You will be numb for the procedure, so no, it should not hurt. However, everyone's pain tolerance is different. You may have some soreness once the procedure is completed, but then that will subside.

A root canal requires the same local anesthetic that one would use to do a filling. Once anesthetized you should be comfortable. Sometimes patients are placed on antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medication.
